After a competitive tender process that piqued the interest of investors and developers from national and international hotel chains, Lima Airport Partners awarded the contract to the Peruvian hotel chain Costa del Sol through a private competition. This selection designates Costa del Sol as the operator responsible for the construction and operation of the two new hotels that will be part of the Airport City, set to open concurrently with the new passenger terminal in 2025.

The hotel project, which will require an estimated private investment of 50 million dollars, will entail the design, construction, and operation of two new hotels. The awarding of this project represents a significant milestone in the development of the New Airport City and reflects the confidence of investors in this unique novel concept for the region. The first 5-star hotel is expected to commence construction at the end of this year, while the 3-star hotel will be built in 2027. Both hotels will be constructed on an approximate area of 5,000 m2.

“This news fills us with pride and underscores the capabilities of Peruvians. We are thrilled that a well-established and experienced Peruvian chain like Costa del Sol will be responsible for the construction of these two hotels, which will contribute to making Lima the regional Hub. Today, we can confidently say that this new project will truly be from Peru to the world” said Mario Mustafá, CEO of Costa del Sol.

The hotel design has drawn inspiration from the ancestral textiles depicted in the Paracas Culture’s fabrics, which thrived on the southern coast of Peru. This complements the new design concept
inspired by the rich cultural heritage and Peruvian identity that will be developed in the new airport and is part of the new experience that LAP is building for all its passengers, users, and visitors.

“We are pleased to announce this significant news, which demonstrates the interest of investors in becoming part of the new Airport City. This project will contribute to the revitalization of tourism and elevate the experience for our passengers and users to the next level, in collaboration with a prominent operator like Costa del Sol. At LAP, we reaffirm our commitment to Peru by developing new infrastructure for the modernization of the airport sector, aiming to establish the Jorge Chavez Airport as one of the leading airports in South America” stated Juan José Salmón, CEO of Lima Airport Partners – LAP.

The first of the new complexes will be a 5-star Wyndham hotel, which will be inaugurated in 2025 alongside the airport terminal, featuring 249 rooms, a restaurant, a bar, a terrace, and several
recreational spaces within its facilities to ensure a pleasant experience for passengers.

The second major project to be undertaken by the hotel chain will be the construction and operation of a 3-star Costa del Sol Hotel, to be opened in 2027, featuring 338 rooms, a restaurant-bar, a terrace, a meeting room, a coworking space, a children’s area, and an observation deck.

Furthermore, ensuring the highest standards of eco-efficiency and sustainability during their construction, both hotels will be certified with LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver certification.

With regard to infrastructure and real estate projects, LAP is executing them under the third-party private investment model. Over the next 10 years, an approximate investment of 225 million dollars
has been committed to third-party developed projects, including the Fuel System, the Callao Logistic Park, and the Hotel Complex.

Furthermore, there are plans for new investments of approximately
300 million dollars in other real estate projects in the Airport City.

In this context, LAP reaffirms its commitment to deliver a new Airport to Peru in 2025, working steadily to convert the Jorge Chávez Airport into one of the leading Airports in South America
through Airport City project, a significant endeavour aimed at fostering competitiveness.
